Canon vs. Nikon

Trivia:

Noong 1917, three of Japan's leading optical manufacturers merge to form a comprehensive, fully integrated optical company known as Nippon Kogaku K.K. and renamed to Nikon Corporation in April 1988. Nikon I is the first Nikon camera which is developed on 1945 and released on March 1948.

Samantala, nagsimula ang Canon which was striving for the world’s best camera  noong 1933 sa Tokyo, Japan, sa isang maliit na apartment at tinawag na Precision Optical Instruments Laboratoyr.  Ang unang prototype camera na kanilang ginawa is named Kwanon after the Buddist goddess of mercy. The first Canon digital SLR was the D30, released in 2000.

Canon and Nikon are the leading brands of film and digital cameras. Sabi ng nakakarami, ang cameras ng naturang company eh my similarities pagdating sa features. Therefore, which is better? Canon? Or Nikon?

Let’s compare. Here are some features and differences of the two. Base sa aking research…

According to the “The Digital SLR Guide”, Canon EOS Rebel T3 (1100D) at ang Nikon D3100 are models that are suitable for beginners. Kung ilang megapixels meron ang mga ito, uri ng LCD, dimensions, o bigat, so far ay halos pareho nga lamang o kaunti ang pinagkaiba.  It has Nikon's Guide Mode, which is designed to initiate beginning photographers to DSLR controls and functionality. Pero, kung lens ang pag-uusapan, unlike ng Canon T3, ‘yung Nikon D3100 is not 100% compatible with older Nikon lenses. Therefore, canon provides more flexibility and better choices of lenses. Kung ease of use naman, mas lamang ang Nikon dahil it has Nikon's Guide Mode, which is designed to initiate beginning photographers to DSLR controls and functionality. It is better to have this kind of option kasi nga the camera isa designed for beginners. Ito pa ang mga differences nila (retrieved from http://www.digitalphotographywriter.com/2011/02/canon-t3-1100d-vs-nikon-d3100.html), in favor of the Nikon D3100 is the sensor size and resolution, 1080p (Full HD) movie rerding and larger LCD. The D3100 is also a bit larger than the Canon’s. In favor of Rebel T3 is the better maximum light sensitivity, a bit lighter and smaller than the Canon’s. In favor of the Canon RebelT3 is the better maximum light sensitivity, 10% larger magnification view finder and probably better ergonomics to the improved design and larger body size.
Ang Nikon D5100 ay merong options available when mode dial set to “Effects” such as night vision, selective color, etc. samantalang ang T3i ay wala nito. Overall, D5100 registers up to 20 options from the Playback, Shooting, Custom Settings, Setup, and Retouch menus for fast access to settings you change frequently while the other one registers up to 6 menu options and Custom Functions.
Kung ang user ng camera eh pawang mga advanced amateur o “Professional Consumers" or Pro-Sumers for short, bagay sa kanila ang dalawang modelong ito, ang Canon 60D at Nikon D7000. In this category, ‘eto ang advantages ng bawat isa. Canon (retrieved from http://snapsort.com/compare/Canon_EOS_60D-vs-Nikon_D7000) has "Very good low-light performance, with low noise levels and good retention of detail." Canon has a flip-out; high resolution screen at fast-shuttered speed. Samantala, ang D7000 which produces high quality output in almost any shooting situation ay weather sealed and has continous video focus. It also automatically focuses shooting video.

‘Yan, naikumpara na natin ang Canon at Nikon in their different levels and models. Both have pros. Pero, pra sa‘men, Nikon is our choice. The ease of use of buttons and menu is a concern lalo na sa mga beginners sa paggamit ng ganitong uri ng camera like us. With Nikon(D5100), you may not use additional software to edit artifacts in your photo kasi nga pwede mo na itong gawin using your camera itself.
